Fersstappen recognized the fact of negotiations with Mercedes. Pilot Red Bull said that other teams show interest in him, but so far he does not plan to go anywhere, especially considering the contract acting before the end of 2028:
In Formula 1, there are rarely cases when the racer leaves before the contract. Here everything is not like in football, where a player can sign a five -year contract, and a year later go to another team. And there are no such intentions either.
It is clear that you never know what will happen in a year or two, but you cannot control it. So I just don`t think about it. Listen, I am pleased with everything where I am now. We won another championship. Although it is clear that we need to work and improve the machine, but this is quite logical. So in the red bull, I feel good, on our site I can be myself.
All the guys work at the limit to give me the best opportunities. In this sense, I have nothing to complain about.
Fertappen was asked about whether they did enough in Mercedes in an attempt to convince him to change the team, which in the end Max refused:
Big teams always show interest in you. But, on the other hand, I also play for a large team. And together we achieved great success. And this team has become a second family for me.
Of course, such communication (with other teams for a possible transition) is constantly going on. And I will not lie - and I will say that we really discussed this option (with Mercedes). The negotiations were very constructive, we were extremely honest with each other.
But, on the other hand, I am devoted to my team, in the Red Bull I feel at home. So now I do not see any goals that I could achieve (only in another team). At the same time, I am still very young and in the future much can happen.
At the same time, the races for me are not limited to Formula 1. After the end of my career in F-1, I want to do other things that I think. And the question is, what team will be the most suitable partner for this? So yes, I think about it, but I don`t have to make this decision right now.
I have several goals that I would like to achieve after leaving F-1-this is both endurance races and my own e-sports team, a lot of things. And this must be planned. And the question is with whom will you deal with these projects? So I also discuss these issues.
Many teams can help with this-Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin, and the connection with Formula 1 is actually not required. And Red Bull, of course, has projects outside the F-1. So I leave the options open and then I will make a decision, which I consider to be the best.
