Germany finished qualifying for Euro 2020 as Group C winner. In their last match, the Bundesteam scattered Northern Ireland with 6:1, although the visitors were surprisingly led. Above all, it was Serge Gnabry, who scored the hat trick. The other goals for Joachim Low`s team were the work of Leon Goretzka (2) and Julian Brandt. Michael Smith scored a goal for Northern Ireland.
Germany finished with 21 points out of 24 possible and a goal difference of 30:7. The second position, which also provides a direct quota for the Euro Finals, remained for the Netherlands and Northern Ireland finished third in the group.

The duel was played in Frankfurt, and Low made some changes to his squad. Marc-Andre ter Stegen stood at the door instead of Manuel Neuer. Emre Can and Jonathan partnered at the center of defense, and Goretzka, Brandt, and Ilkay Gundogan acted behind Gnabry.
The start of the meeting was more than sensational - with a goal for the Northern Irish, who only a few days ago had hopes for second place but failed to beat the Netherlands. In the 11th minute, Michael Smith of Harts fired a real projectile, after which the ball stopped behind Ter Stegen`s back.

Germany responded swiftly, and there were situations ahead of Peacock-Farrell`s door. The visitors` keeper saved several positions, but in the 19th minute he was helpless. After a pass from Jonas Hector, the ball came to Gnabry, who turned in the box and leveled a powerful shot.
This result remained almost until the end of the half. In the 43rd minute Hector again advanced to the left and returned the ball to the penalty spot. It was first reached by Goretzka and, with the help of the right beam, overcame Peacock-Farrell by 2:1.

After the break, the Germans did what they wanted on the pitch. In the 47th minute Gnabry coolly scored for 3:1, and in the 60th he was accurate after Brandt`s assist and formulated his hat trick. Bayern (Munich) has already scored 13 goals in 13 games mentioned by record of football forecast for the Bundesteam - something not achieved since the time of Gerd Muller 50 years ago.
The guests totally collapsed and there was no way they could score no more goals. In the 73rd minute, Goretzka with a ferocious shot brought the game to 5:1, and in the added time Brandt, who was among the best in the German squad, also scored a goal.
