World No. 1 Simona Halep had a heavy match from the first round of the Australian Open. The Romanian won 7:6 (5), 6:1 over the Australian Wild Card star Astana (No. 193 in the WTA rankings). Hallep lost 2:5 in the first part, had to reflect 2 points in the eighth game, but still managed to beat the tiebreak, which lagged 0:2 and 1:3, but eventually he pulled it 7:5. The second set was now radically different and in it the Romanian dominated the court, giving only the game by soccer livescore to its rival.

Halep, a two-time quarterback at Melbourne, failed to overtake the first round in the last two years. Both players had a medical timeout during the meeting. Halley took him to the top of the second set after having played an ankle injury in a play and he had to be banded. At the end of the meeting, Halep admitted that she was `slightly anxious` about the ankle condition. 17-year-old Aea left for a while the 5-2 draw in his favor in the first set.

The next rival of Hallepe is the former semi-finalist of the Juveny Bouchar tournament. Canadian hit Ossein Doden (France) in the first round in Melbourne with 6:3, 7:6 (5). The first round was overtaken by US Open finalist Madison Keys and compatriot of Hallepe - Sorana Curtis. American Keys ( 17 in the chart) beat Chinese Kian Van with 6:1, 7:5. Kurstja managed with Zarina Dias (Kazakhstan) with 5:7, 6:4, 6:3.
